9% of employers may drop health benefits by 2014 ? Business ...

9% of employers may drop health benefits by 2014, when the employer-mandate provisions of the Affordable Care Act kick in, according to a survey of benefits managers by the consulting firm Deloitte.

But 81% said they plan to continue offering health coverage to their employees. Ten percent said they were undecided?and exploring new ways to provide health benefits, such as defined-contribution plans enabling employees to purchase coverage through state-run insurance exchanges that will also come online in 2014.
