The introduction of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel hasn't motivated Ford to offer a diesel engine in their F-150.
Speaking a recent press event, Ford's group vice president of global product development told Edmunds "We don't see the dynamics for an F-150 diesel right now." Raj Nair went on to say "If you go through the math, your payback is much longer and consumers are smart enough to know that."
While Ford seems to have passed on the idea, Nissan has reportedly teamed up with Cummins to develop a four-cylinder diesel engine for the next-generation Titan. Set to displace 2.8-liters, the engine is expected to produce approximately 210 bhp (156 kW) and 385 lb-ft (521 Nm) of torque.
