For the last couple of months, I?ve been bringing you recipes that use ingredients from the farmers market?written by the kings and queens of local food at Cuisine en Locale. The recipes proved so popular that I wanted to expand the feature by including special beverages perfect for consumption right now.
So today, I?ve got a delicious drink recipe from Meaghan Sinclair and Harmony Dawn, the women behind Booze??poque, a boutique?cocktail company based out of Union Square?s Kitchen Inc. It?s got?some darker, earthy ingredients like bourbon, whiskey barrel-aged bitters and amaro as well as some winter citrus, blood orange and Meyer lemon.
Winter?s Last Stand
1? ounces Larceny bourbon
??ounce Averna Amaro
1 ounce fresh blood orange juice
??ounce fresh Meyer lemon juice
Dash of?Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel-Aged Bitters
Shake over ice.
Strain into rocks glass over one large ice cube.
Zest Meyer lemon over the top of the drink.
Garnish with blood orange slice.
Enjoy (responsibly)!
P.S. Want Sinclair and Dawn to make amazing drinks like this one just for you? They?re available for hire for your next party, wedding or event of any kind!
