Gardena's 28th annual parade in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. will take place on Jan. 14.
This year's grand marshal will be Carmelita Jeter, a Gardena native and award-winning sprinter. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Marine and Van Ness avenues. It will travel north on Van Ness to 132nd Street, then head east.
